[1.3.0 BETA] DISTINCT in PHQL is now being ignored

I compared the 1.2.4 build with the 1.3.0 build and there are definitely changes to the source. I am not well enough versed in C to identify exactly why though.

Is this a bug or has DISTINCT been replaced with something else or has it been intentionally removed?
